After a bit of a layoff, i have been trying to work out how to make it easier for people to reade the trading day details and also to put some more comentary and suggestion posts.

I have still done some day trading, not a lot over the past month and a bit since the last post.

So I am currently going to change the look at the site.
I am looking at using google docs to record the day trading details. This will make it easier for those who want to track what i do, to make sure i am accurate, a quick way to check. Those that may just want the running total, this will be posted after each trading day.

And will try be doing a couple of post a week about some unique gold making strats which may not be active on other servers.

Trading Day 17

I have started to look at Rare weapons and armor for levels 15-62 and when the price is 25g and lower. But you have to be careful here, Look closely at the item and who it would benefit. I try to avoid most weapons with Spirit atm, as I don't think there is a huge market for it. Also I am avoiding most maces due to that same reasoning.

Although I do use addons like auctioneer, i mainly use my own reasoning in these areas. I am not looking for a huge price increase for these items. I am looking as buying for 15-20g and relisting at 35g. This price is reasonable, and hopefully should guarantee a quick turnover.

Also I have noticed that Silver bar has started to become a big gold earner for me, and i am now working on a possible market domination of this to maximize returns in the near future

Also I have taken off auctioning over the Easter long weekend break. Hence the break in putting up trading posts.

2 interesting points for todays trading.
I found someone who was selling 4 x runecloth bags for 12g, and as I needed bags, I took them.
Also I started a small test a while ago. How long would it take me to sell the lowest vendor item - course thread, for a profit on the ah. Well it took 9 days, but it did sell. Thus if I has not got lucky on my first AH buys, this was a way to start getting that first crucial extra copper to start proper trading with.

New Rules?

In thinking about the rules to whichIi want to try my experiment, I have come upon a delema. I have stated that I will learn no trade skills. But here is the dilema. It is obvious that some crafted gear will produce a greater profit, ie netherweave cloth stack bought for say 6 gols, crafted into a bag (add 50s for the thread) will sell for 11+ gold, and sell fast as the insatiable need for these bags never ends. So how can I work around this problem.
So i am going to advertise in trade chat that i need someone to make x and what will they charge to do so. Now what I am looking to do is get up a regular clientelle of crafters that i can use, thus I cannot be a poor tipper or screw them over.
I do think this keeps with the ethos I stated at the start of the experiment. It also opens up more possible ways of maximising my investments.

Trade Routes

Trade Routes such as Silk Road where a way for a merchant to expand not only his stock but also his customers and connections.Likewise today was a day of creating a new few trade routes. I set out for the Crossroads, and as I am only a lvl 1, encountered some resistance on the way, but was able to arrive there without to much hassle. After getting the FP I then gathered a few of the lower lvl recipes from the local vendor and then tracked my way Camp Taurajo, but not finding any recipes, i then made the daunting trek to to Brackenwall village. There I also purchased a few recipes. I will no see if this is a viable trade route and also later on expand to more.

Day 5

Day 5 was a milestone trading day for 2 reasons. I had my biggest trade profit, and I broke through the 100g barrier 2 days earlier than my goal.
The Drums of forgotten kings I picked up for 91s I turned around for 52g 40s. Again showing good bargains are always to be had if you search hard enough. SOme will say i should have made the price higher, as they are going for around 75g a set of drums. True bit i was looking for a quick sale to build up my gold stock first. When i have more capital them i can not be too worried about making a quick sale

Today was a day for building up some stock. Some like the silver bars, were flipped and sold straight away. Most of the other stock was put back up for auction straight away. I have sometimes been buying single items, ie lesser planar essence, so I can create a greater one when I get some more items, or like the light leather, which i will try to get another 18 or so to put up.

So some immediate goals : 100 gold withing 7 days - 1000 withing 3 weeks

Atm i am focusing on anything that i think to be a low price, but i have noticed that enchanting and jewel crafting mats seam to be the most common and can be flipped quickly. Although I have 1 glyph, I am going to keep away from this market.

I am putting all my trades into a spreadsheet with daily tabs. I am not keeping track of any Ah charges, as they don't really have much of a reference, i will be doing a weekly stock check as well.

Also i will put up screen shots when I think they are of interest or will teach a point

First Trades

Before i get to the first trade I will state that atm I am using the addons of Auctioneer and Marketwatcher.

It took 2 days to find my first trade on the ah. In fact I managed to do 2 trades on this day. To be honest I was lucky with the first one, it was a no buyout of 6 smoked redfin which i got for 1 copper. This sold to the vendor for 20 silver.

This was a pretty big first trade, i thought it would take a few trades to get to a few silver. The next one was quite unbelievable.


And I think this shows that people dont really understand the true value of items.
Some has listed a Perfect Bold Bloodstone on the AH for a 12 copper buyout. This sold to a vendor for 1 gold, so it was a no brainer.







Bought - sold - my balance for the day was 1 gold 15 silver and some copper.

The act of exchanging money or services for goods has been going on since the very early recording of human history. It has brought about environmental and political change, both for good and bad. It opened up the world, as the need for spices drove companies to search for foreign lands. today it creates great wealth and can also take it away.
Inside the World of Warcraft it is a vital element of the game. But I think it has taken on a life of its own.The wow economy has developed to such a point that it is a game in itself.
So that is what this blog is about.
I have created a new toon , Horde side, sent him off to to the nearest city with a Auction house, in this case Orgrimmar. He then sold all the items he had on him which can to 14 copper
14 copper. That is all the starting funds he will start with. This toon will not quest, will not learn any trades. he will not accept any help ie quick gold from signimg a guild charter etc... He will try to get to the gold cap by only trading on the Auction House. Is this possible? I believe so, but the time taken to achieve this is the unknown factor, could be 1 year, 2 years......
This will be a open daily account of what is bought and sold on the AH, inventory listing, as well as any other expenses.
I an recording everything that happens, Every transaction that is completed will try to be screen shotted for record management.
This is the basic brief of what i am trying to accomplish. I don't know if it has been done before, and atm i can find no reference to it being done.

There are some other rules i am going to stick to that i will be explaining in the comming days.
